Meet our newest team members at our head office in Cape Town, South Africa
(l to r): Ted Beckerleg and Tarin Cameron, with GM Assistant Sabine Pienaar, and Charl Rudman. Each recently joined our international sales/marketing team and is experienced in the FMCG sector and well versed in gourmet food products. Send us an e-mail on firstname.lastname@example.org, let us know your pre-packaged gourmet food needs (spices, bakery ingredients, speciality teas, coffee capsules, Matcha Tea, Rooibos Tea and more). We’ll match you with one of our representatives most suited to your country.
We attend food & tea expos in Europe, Australia and the USA
SIAL Paris, France
16-20 October 2016
Charl Rudman shared our Khoisan Tea booth with one of our newer agents and said, "SIAL Paris is estimated to be the second biggest food show in the world, after Anuga in Germany. It is a melting pot of international buyers. We met with importers and distributors from Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Asia, France, England, Spain, Israel, and Jordan to name a few. Most visitors were amazed at the top quality of our organic spices, various teas and organic coffee capsules," he said.
South African National Pavilion, World Food Moscow
12-15 September 2016
Salon International Food & Drink Exhibition, Spain
25-28 April 2016
Ted Beckerleg said of these expos, “In terms of Rooibos Tea, Russia is an emerging market and there is much opportunity to work on getting our products into supermarket shelves. Rooibos in Russia is primarily visible in specialty boutiques at the moment, so the expo helped us meet various new buyers there. In Spain, Rooibos Tea is more widely known in comparison. The expo there helped us talk directly to important tea buyers. Because I speak fluent Spanish, it was a successful event for us; we can easily supply our pre-packaged ranges in Spanish, if needed in larger volumes."
Fine Food Show in Melbourne, Australia
12-15 September 2016
Tarin Cameron attended the expo: “After an unexpected 12-hour flight delay, two extra hotels later and about two days of no sleep, we arrived in beautiful Melbourne for the Fine Food Show. Both the exhibitors and visitors seemed very open to our expanding product range and unique organic gourmet food items. Apart from our herbal, fruit and black teas, our organic baking range was a hit among visitors, while many also inquired about our new organic Rooibos Matcha Tea. Time will tell what will happen 'Down Under' and I welcome all further inquiries from Australia."
World Tea Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada USA
15-17 June 2016
“We focused on our packaged specialty products due to the severe shortage of bulk Rooibos Tea. Our organic Matcha teas generated a lot of interest. Generally speaking, the World Tea Expo is a good place to meet up with existing customers and learn about the latest developments in US and Canadian tea markets,” GM Tobias Gress said.
Our international sales team members Berit Elmau and Charl Rudman attended the 67th anniversary celebration of the founding of the People’s Republic of China in late September at the Table Bay Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa. “We were most honoured to be part of this event and to meet the Consul General Kang Yong and Madame Pu Jumei,” they said.
“I was also most impressed that the Consul General mentioned Rooibos Tea in his speech. It was tops among two other important South African products and services, namely wine and our tourism industry. The event also allowed us to meet with the Consul General of Russia, a representative of Wesgro and several other exporters and business owners who came to partake in the evening’s festivities,” Charl Rudman added.

Annual Khoisan Tea Farmer’s Day focuses on most important contributors to Rooibos industry….farmers
Rooibos Tea producers and farmers from the Cederberg region attended our annual Khoisan Tea Farmer’s Day in Citrusdal on 23 November 2016. The occasion marked the successful close of the 2016 Rooibos season while simultaneously discussing what the 2017 Rooibos season will hold for all. With a record turnout of nearly 200 guests, the evening proved successful.
CEO Khoisan Tea (Pty) Ltd Peter Schülke heartily welcomed all producers, exhibitors and speakers who addressed a wide range of matters relating to Rooibos Tea. Guest speakers Gideon de Beer, Niel Kruger, Marietji Smit and Gilbert Theron addressed a variety of topics. Khoisan Tea buyer and Farmer Relationship Manager, Maristha Slabbert, along with Khoisan Tea’s expert producers and tea makers, Pieter and Martin Slabbert, rounded off the evening dinner function at the Koningskop Lapa.
“Khoisan Tea remains very excited and positive about the future of Rooibos Tea and we would again like to thank our loyal producers for their continued support and help in obtaining new heights every year. We are intent on providing the world’s best Rooibos Tea and we look forward to a successful 2017 for everyone in the industry, from the important and vital farmer to the valued buyer,” said Maristha Slabbert.
Our year-end message comes from the highest mountain in Africa, Kilimanjaro
CEO of Khoisan Tea (Pty) Ltd Peter Schülke and his daughter successfully climbed Mt Kilimanjaro in late December 2015/January 2016. While it was not quite a business trip, Khoisan Rooibos Tea was on the menu during the ascent to keep the team hydrated and fit. “It was an amazing, life-changing experience. With steady, honest dedication and hard work, it just shows all heights can be reached,” says Peter Schülke.
